Sydney, Australia has to be one of the most underrated queer female destinations in the world. What’s not to love about a city full of rainbows, sunshine, amazing brunch, and beautiful women/nb folks with Australian accents?
Discovering the Gayborhoods
The traditional gayborhood in Sydney is Oxford Street. This vibrant area is full of gay nightclubs, sex shops, and the amazing queer bookstore, Bookshop Darlinghurst. It’s the perfect place to start your exploration of Sydney’s LGBTQ+ scene.
But our favorite area was Newtown, where we found all the gay girls hanging out. Newtown has tons of fun shops and restaurants to explore during the day, but it really comes alive at night. On Wednesday nights, head to The Bank for Birdcage, the city’s weekly sapphic party.
