What are Queer Girls Trips?
Queer Girls Trips brings queer women and sapphic nonbinary travelers together to explore the world and build community. Our trips combine thoughtfully planned itineraries guided by locals with the opportunity to connect with other queer travelers.
Who can join a trip?
Our trips are open to women who identify as queer, including lesbians, bisexual women, and pansexual women, and nonbinary folks who identify as sapphic or date women.
We’re here to create a welcoming space for our community to travel and connect. If you’re unsure whether a particular trip is the right fit, please reach out before booking.
Can I join a trip alone?
Absolutely! Most of our travelers come solo, so you’ll be in good company. You don’t need to bring a friend or partner to join.
Our groups are welcoming spaces, and we usually get comfortable with each other quickly. There’s plenty of time to share new experiences, get to know each other, and build connections along the way. Many of our travelers leave with friendships that continue long after the trip is over.
Can I come with my girlfriend, partner, or a friend?
Yes! Couples and friends are more than welcome. We love having a diverse group of solo travelers, couples, and friends.
There are plenty of opportunities to spend time with the group, along with free time when you can explore together, enjoy a little downtime as a couple or with your friend, or join whatever the group has planned.
Who leads the trips?
The logistics are handled by a local guide who knows the destination, speaks the language, and helps us navigate local customs.
The group vibes are by us, Janine and Gen! We’re a lesbian couple, travel creators, and the people behind Queer Girl Travel. We’re on every trip, sharing the adventure with you.
A little about us: we love exploring the local queer scene wherever we go, from lesbian bars and sapphic events to women’s sports and businesses owned by queer people. Through our guides and group trips, we share that love of travel with our community.
What kinds of activities can I expect?
Every destination is different! We tailor each itinerary around activities we love as queer women and experiences we know our travelers enjoy.
We like to mix culture, adventure, and chill time to bond, with plenty of eating and drinking along the way! The goal is to experience the destination while also having time to relax and get to know each other.
The individual trip itinerary explains the planned activities, physical activity involved, and any free time so you can choose an adventure that suits you.
What if I’m introverted, shy, or nervous?
Totally get it. Traveling with people you haven’t met yet can feel a bit intimidating.
We make space for different personalities, and you don’t need to be the loudest person in the room to feel part of the group. This isn’t a constant party situation. There’s room for quiet conversations, downtime, and early nights, too.
During free time and optional activities, you can choose what feels right for you. You don’t have to say yes to everything.
How do you choose destinations for queer travelers?
We personally choose destinations and help shape itineraries that we think are a great fit for our travelers. We consider the local environment, the experiences we can share, and how comfortable we’d feel exploring there as queer women.
We look for places where we can bring together culture, adventure, and opportunities to connect with each other, plus explore the local queer scene when possible.
No destination is completely risk free, and laws, local attitudes, and individual experiences vary. We encourage you to review current LGBTQ+ travel information alongside the trip itinerary before booking.
How much do your trips cost, and what’s included?
Prices and inclusions vary by trip. Follow the booking link for your chosen departure to see its current price, accommodation, included activities and meals, and any additional costs.
We offer early bird pricing and payment plans, too! Check your chosen trip’s booking page for available options and the payment schedule.
Our trips typically don’t include flights because our travelers come from all over the world. You arrange your own travel to the destination, and once you arrive, we have the trip itinerary and included arrangements organized for you, so you can settle in and enjoy the experience.
Check your individual trip listing for exactly what’s covered, including airport transfers, meals, and activities, plus anything you’ll need to arrange separately.
How does room sharing work?
The standard booking includes a shared room. Around 90 days before departure, you’ll receive a traveler form with a survey that helps us pair roommates based on the preferences you share.
If you already know someone joining, or connect with another traveler before the trip, you can request to room together. Just include your roommate request on your traveler form.
If you’d prefer a private room, check your trip listing for availability and any additional cost.
Can I get to know the group before the trip?
Yes! We host two Zoom calls leading up to each trip, so you can meet familiar faces before you arrive.
We also have a group chat where we get to know each other, answer questions, and make plans together as a group. It’s a great place to share your excitement, connect with a potential roommate, and feel part of the community before the adventure even starts.
What if I need to cancel or change my booking?
Cancellation, refund, and booking change policies are set out in the terms for your specific trip. Please read those terms before reserving your spot.
